World Amputee Hockey Team

On November 28, 2001 in St. Petersburg, Russia, amputee hockey players from the United States (www.amputeehockey.org), Canada (www.canadianamputeehockey.ca) , Belarus, and Finland will come together to form a "World Amputee Hockey Team" so they can compete against the Russian championship amputee hockey team. Many of the players lost limbs to landmines. According to the International Institute for Prosthetic Rehabilitation of Landmie Survivors (IPRLS), the event will raise awareness about the landmines issue and the need for dignity and fair play among disabled athletes.
