U.S. campaigners are joining a call to participate in a global "Lend Your Leg" campaign action from March 1 to April 4 to support efforts aimed at eradicating landmines.

The U.S. Campaign to Ban Landmines is participating in a global "Lend Your Leg" campaign action from March 1 to April 4 together with the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.

"Lend your Leg" was initiated by a small group of motivated citizens in Colombia, who rolled up their pant leg in a symbolic gesture of solidarity with landmine survivors across the globe. What began as a grassroots campaign to raise awareness of this ongoing humanitarian crisis soon spread via social media and quickly gained broad public support.

This month, "Lend Your Leg" campaigners around the world are holding events to urge governments that remain outside the Mine Ban Treaty to join immediately and calling on all to take steps towards achieving a mine-free world.
